The “King of Stone” Mountain in the Alps

Monviso (3,841 m), the highest peak of the Cottian Alps, earned the nickname “Re di Pietra” - “King of Stone” - for its pyramidal shape and dominant position. It can even be seen from Turin and has become a symbol of Piedmont.
