Carnevale di Alagna is one of the most authentic Alpine carnivals, closely linked to the culture of the Walser people. Unlike large urban carnivals, it preserves an intimate atmosphere and traditional rituals.

The highlight of the event is the participation of locals in historical Walser costumes, who parade through the streets of Alagna Valsesia and take part in symbolic scenes and folk performances. The program usually includes parades, music, traditional food, and gatherings in the village center.

The main celebrations take place in the days leading up to Martedì Grasso, when the most important parades and festivities are held. The event attracts both locals and visitors interested in Alpine traditions.
