The 43rd edition of the Cusiano Festival of Early Music takes place from 31 May to 28 June 2026 in Orta San Giulio, one of the most picturesque towns on Lake Orta. Organised by the Associazione Amici della Musica “Vittorio Cocito”, the festival presents a month-long programme dedicated to medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and classical music performed on historical instruments by specialised ensembles and acclaimed soloists.
The main concerts are held in the elegant Sala Tallone on the Island of San Giulio and at Palazzo Penotti Ubertini in Orta San Giulio. The 2026 programme includes works by Vivaldi, Lully, Salieri, Bach, Handel, Monteverdi and other composers, alongside vocal and instrumental performances, masterclasses and chamber music concerts. Weekend lunchtime performances, known as Intermezzi di Mezzodì, offer shorter concerts in historic venues around the town.
A special highlight is the Festa della Musica, held on 21 June in Piazza Motta, celebrating the summer solstice with free live performances and music open to everyone. Combining exceptional music with the unique atmosphere of Lake Orta, the festival remains one of the leading cultural events of the Cusio area.
