Fuori di Zucca is one of Santa Maria Maggiore’s most popular autumn events, celebrating pumpkins, seasonal produce and the flavours of Valle Vigezzo. During the festival, the historic centre is transformed with scenic installations, decorated shop windows, exhibitions, street games, concerts and activities for visitors of all ages. 

Pumpkins are the undisputed stars of the weekend: from small decorative varieties to giant specimens, they appear throughout the village in imaginative displays and carved figures. Food plays a central role, with sweet and savoury pumpkin-based tastings and local recipes given a seasonal twist. Among them are stinchéet, the traditional thin sheets of batter typical of Valle Vigezzo, served in special autumn versions. 

The programme also includes a km0 market with produce from small local farms, along with music, exhibitions and entertainment in the streets and squares.
