La Grande Pesciolata di Mergozzo, often simply called Pesciolata di Mergozzo, is a popular gastronomic event dedicated to fish dishes from the lakes and rivers of the Ossola area. The festival takes place on the lakeside promenade of Mergozzo, where large outdoor dining areas are set up for visitors. Local volunteers and members of fishing associations prepare traditional recipes, often including fried fish and other specialties typical of the region. The event offers a relaxed summer atmosphere with views of Lake Mergozzo and the surrounding mountains, attracting both residents and tourists.
The 12th edition of La Grande Pesciolata will take place on 11–12 July 2026 along the lakeside promenade of Mergozzo. Visitors will be able to enjoy freshly prepared seafood dishes including fried fish, grilled fish and a traditional octopus-and-potato appetizer.
On Saturday evening, the event will be accompanied by live music from the group Animali Acustici. As in previous years, long communal tables will be set up along the waterfront, creating one of the most popular summer food festivals on Lake Mergozzo.
